I'm a full-stack web developer who loves to code! I build mainly in Rails and React.js, but am always learning new technologies. My background is in education and liberal arts, which have informed many of the fundamental choices I make as a developer. I build from a user-first perspective, with the ultimate goal of creating something intuitive and elegant that users will love.
I'm always looking to work on interesting projects with thoughtful and creative people, so please reach out with any opportunities, or if you'd just like to chat about Javascript for a while. Either way. Although I've been living and breathing (and having weird dreams about) code recently, I'm also a fully rounded person with interests that range from ancient Greek philosophy to baking sourdough. I'm always happy to meet new people in and out of the tech community, so let's swap stories!

L Train Bingo is a Rails/React.js web app that allows users to create real-world bingo cards and play with their friends. All work on this app was a solo effort.
Shortstack is a Sinatra based blogging site, that allows users to create posts, respond to users, upvote/downvote posts they like/dislike.
Message In A Bottle is a journaling web app that allows users to send and receive anonymous journal entries. The app is centered around creating opportunities for users to create meaningful and raw content without worrying about how they're being perceived by the world at large, while simultaneously writing for an audience. This project was completed over the a week by three developers.
Battleboat is a three-day team of five project to create a clone of Battleship. It uses a ruby on rails framework and javascript to create real-time turn based play between users across a network.
This solo project creates a playable game of standard Hearts. Using a Sinatra framework and an ERB frontend.
Investment Calc is a business application that takes a predfined, dynamic investment strategy based on investment risk, and returns an ideal investment portfolio based on that risk.
Mello Jello is a task organizing web app, that allows users to create columns for categories, and numerous cards within those columns. Cards as well as columns can be rearranged. This is a Node.js/Express backend with Vanilla Javascript front.

Dev Bootcamp is a 19-week intensive training program for aspiring web developers, specializing in Ruby, Rails, HTML5, CSS, Test Driven Development, Object-Oriented Javascript (AJAX, JQuery), Git and Source Control, Heroku and Agile Development. The first 9 weeks of the curriculum are remote, while the next 10 weeks are an immersive in-class experience. The program also addresses intra- and interpersonal strategies to fostering optimal learning and teamwork environments.
Mastered an interdisciplinary curriculum based on the “Great Books” of Western civilization. Analyzed source texts in the sciences and humanities. Wrote extensive essays and passed rigorous oral examinations. Presented and defended arguments in a seminar setting. Studied four years of philosophy, mathematics, and language, three years of laboratory sciences, and two years of music.Double Major in Philosophy and the History of Math and Science. Double Minor in Classical Languages and Comparative Literature.
